    This is getting ridiculous...

Ok, so this is kind of related to Mike's rant in the sticky.

Every single point that is presented in that thread (that I've read, which is a couple pages) is valid. The problem here is that forum spammers and many newbies obviously don't read that thread, nor any other thread for that matter. Once every short while, inappropriate, non-IM, or newbie threads pop up.

Newbies come along asking "What's the quickest way to Emerald City?" and then never show up again after the wizard hasn't given them the magic key to online riches.

Newbies come along and post their JV proposals:
"Hi, I have a great product. Sign up here to make me some cash."

Then of course, there's the odd completely random post:
"Hi, great prices on Cialis here!"

This is a wicked forum and THE premier forum for JVs online, second to none, not even the Warrior Forum. WF is great for just about everything else in IM, but this is the place to be for JVs. To make this a better community for us, these people must either be prevented or at least deterred from joining this community. My (most likely unoriginal) idea is to have either a low fee, one-time or monthly. Really low, so that people on low budgets, yet serious people, will not be deterred. It would be nice to see JVNP turn into something like a standalone War Room of sorts, where only dedicated IMers tread.

Just my 3 Canadian cents. Thoughts?

I just reported a post containing a porn material, who would expect one will post a material like that in a IM forum, moreover that site has 182 Trojan threat (reported by Google)

I don't know how those spammer brats found this forum, they must be debarred from posting in this forum.

I would say even hiding this forum pages from search engine is better than having these kind of brats.

Only serious people who care about JV must granted access, so I hope mods will take action.

Thanks for your opinions, Curtis and Essai.

As I've mentioned, my main tech support ... my son Mike Jr., and a handful of other trusted, long time friend and partners Techies ... will be completely overhauling both my IM4Newbies.com and JVNotifyPro.com sites, both becoming free/paid sites in the near future. I'm sure you'll be even more pleased at the features, options, value ... and security of the new versions.

Keep and eye out ... I'll surf for spam on a daily basis until that day to make sure we stay clean.

    Happy Holidays,

    Mike

Mike has got his hands full with keeping out the spammers for sure. This is just part of the internet and its' something that is a cat and mouse game for sure.

There is a ton of software that is designed to do forum posting. So of the more advanced programs will even do captcha breaking. There are only a handful of these kinda and they are $$$.

    Thanks

It is a major committment running a membership site....spammers are a major threat to the enjoyment of a truly informative forum.

I can tell you on one of my fitness sites I literally have to go through and personally approve each member....to be honest it drives me nuts. If it wasn't for the value it gives my members i would blow it up!

My hats off to Mike and the crew for keeping this a valuable place which is virtually spam free.

    take care

    Re: This is getting ridiculous...

    Hey Guys,

I'm kind of a newbie to this forum, definitely not a newbie online.

It's funny how it works in reverse though, to those of us that are serious and do want to really contribute.

Unless I have something meaningful to say, I find it hard to make even ten posts.

I would much prefer a paid forum where you knew people were serious just by virtue of payment.

Hold on, let me get up on my soapbox, there we go...

I completely agree that it should be a 2 way street, help and get helped...

But, I am facing this problem:

I'm a hardware engineer, not much of a salesperson at all, I know that so I play to my strengths, testing analyzing and building.

I spent the last year, year and half with my nose deep in tests, analyzing SEO results, huddling with programmers and designing my program.

    That's what I'm good at.

Now that it's finished it's time for me to sell it. But I suck at selling. Admittedly. I've done some affiliate marketing, I'm pretty good at ppc, because let's face it, it's all analytical, I excel at SEO, again analytical, but when it comes time to sell my skills, I run for the hills...

I'd love nothing more than to just come to a forum like this where there are a bunch of guys/gals that are good at selling and say hey, this is what I got, can you sell it, let's make a deal.

Maybe submit it with a free copy/membership and let you analyze it, take it for a free spin, if you think you can sell it great, let's do business, if not, thanks for taking a look.

But I understand the problem with that as well.

Bottom line if you ask me, spammers and freebie seekers that have not paid any dues, create crappy products and expect to make a pile of money selling rehashed info have ruined this process.

What I'd like to see as a serious entrepreneur is a place to showcase my product and connect with serious salespeople (affiliates) interested in doing business.

    My dos colones...
