I have been a Graphic Designer in Silicon and San Joaquin Valley area for over 10 years. I have created all the camera-ready artwork for printing from thumbnails to finished comprehensive. From designing newsletters to magazines & newspapers, I have done them all except television.
When recession and depression hits the economy in 1998 I thought I would change a different direction. My husband is a Registered Nurse and so he suggested that I should go into the medical field. And so I left graphic designs for awhile and enrolled back in college. I took the prerequisites courses I needed in Nursing. My husband said, “Nurses never gets laid off and you can go anywhere in the world and still find a job.”
I thought what a great idea! And so I waited for more than two years to get into the Nursing program but I couldn't get in. There was a long waiting list. So I end up being in a Respiratory Therapy program but after I got into the program, I found out it wasn’t really my cup of tea. I wasn’t passionate about it like he does. My passion is to work on computer doing social media and graphic designs. After finding out the opportunity on paid social media jobs online, my business direction changed. With the rapid changes in social media and Information Technology, I can be anywhere in the world and still find a job like he does!
