Grew up in L.A. and Colorado. Went to school at CU Boulder and SDSU. Majored in snowboarding and coeds at CU.... and surfing and coeds at SDSU. Made a little money in the mortgage industry before the bubble burst, then moved into a sales and marketing position for a few years before starting Smart Chart Trading with my father. My dad had been creating investment models for about 30 years with a focus on risk management, and after the '08 crash - and a few years of hating my job - we decided to take his investment models and concepts to a public that was in dire need of effective protection strategies. I feel like I've learned an insane amount in the last 2.5 years - both on the investment side and IM side - and I feel like I still have an insane amount to learn. But I wouldn't want to do anything else. Other than that, I've lived in San Diego for 10 years, love every day, and don't understand why anyone would live anywhere else.
