THE Secret To Getting More Joint Ventures
Copyright 2007 by Willie Crawford
Every day I am approached by numerous people who are on
the verge of launching new products. These people often
have no list, no website traffic, and no name recognition.
They come to me because they want to leverage off my
assets to get their products launched.
I'll share briefly with you my thoughts on what too many
people are doing wrong in launching products and seeking
joint ventures.
First of all, far too many people are waiting too late in
the process to seek JV partners or the services of a joint
venture broker. I am a joint venture broker :-)
Many of the big list owners are approached about major
products launches weeks to MONTHS in advance. They often
make commitments to promote a given product months in
advance. They can only send out a limited number of
promotional emails before they alienate their list members
and generate substantial unsubscribes.
When you approach these large list owners after your launch
is already underway, most of them will not be able to "fit
in" a promotion for you. It's not personal, it's just that
there are HUNDREDS of new product launches within the Internet
marketing community every month recently. Fortunately, most
of these launches are small, but they all still contribute
to the noise level. In order to break through that noise
level, you do need to reach the large list owners far
enough in advance that they can schedule promoting your
product.
One of the biggest problems that I notice with new products
shown to me is that they are merely rehashed versions of
products that I've seen "hundreds" of times. If you read
two or three ebooks, and then write your own from what
you've learned from those ebooks, your product will probably
NOT excite many potential joint venture partners. Therefore,
you'll have trouble getting anyone to promote it.
When you're launching a new product, and you're a relative
unknown, it is often better to approach the intermediate
level marketers with your joint venture proposal. These
intermediate level marketers often have built sizeable,
responsible lists. These intermediate level marketers often
don't get dozens of joint venture proposals a week, so your
proposal is just more likely to get to them, get read, and
get a positive response.
When approaching a potential joint venture partner at any
level, look for things that you can do for them BEFORE
asking them to do you a favor. Even though you may feel like
you are running out of time, make your rule "give, give,
then take."
Think "Dig your well BEFORE you are thirsty!"
Acknowledge that your potential joint venture partners all
have pet projects that they are working on. To them, their
projects are their top priority, just as your projects are
often your top priority. Help them to make their project
a success and they will be more inclined (even feel
obligated) to help you make your project a success.
The expression, "You scratch my back, and I'll scratch
yours" is very alive in the world of Internet marketing,
and in the world of business in general. Acknowledge and
embrace that philosophy. Acknowledge that to have more
friends, you need to reach out to and be a friend to more
people.
When we get down to the very heart of it, arranging more
successful joint ventures means always putting the best
interest of your potential joint venture partners, and their
customers, first. When you do that your potential joint
venture partners, and their customers, respond very positively.
They have to - they are responding to inviolate universal
laws such as "the law of reciprocity" and "the law of
attraction."
When you get down to the very heart of it, the secret to
getting more joint ventures is temporarily forgetting
about your needs and your plans and focusing on your
potential joint venture partners needs and plans. Master that
art and you'll have more joint venture partners "anxious" to
promote your products than you want ;-)
