dormant domains. What to do with them?

I have a couple of domains that I dont do anything with right now.

What are some uses for them that I could try?

I'm looking for low maintenance ideas whether thats linking to my sites that are currenlty live or just trhowing up some affiliate links on there.

Suggestions?

I have over 400+ domains and this is what I would do.

1. Install some type of free offer like a free ebook. I use the butterfly script on almost every site I do.

2. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOME KIND OF BACK END. YOU SHOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING WITH OUT A BACK END IN PLACE TO MAKE YOU MONEY.

3. Offer them some kind of upsell, oto etc

4. Once they join they are affiliates and give them a GREAT WIIFM to promote your site.

5. Use aweber to add new content to your blog and then have aweber email people from now untill the cows come home to visit the new content on your blog.

6. Make sure you have affiliate links or adesene or ypn on the blog.

This makes you look good, you gave them something free, then paid them to promote your site. Gave them free content every 2 weeks.

You get paid for helping others.

if the domains have any name value like 4 letter domains you can just sell it

You buy and sell domains as you wish, the real question is what makes it the domain valuable, because what makes it valuable to one person doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable to another.

I have a few domains myself. Some I purchased because I liked the name, but mostly I would find domains that had lots of links to them that were relevant to the sites I already have and most importantly, the links to that domain are from sites that are also relevant.

Once I have purchased that the main I then would do a 301 redirect. So all the relevant links are pointing to my own site this is just another way of getting free relevant traffic to your site.

But I have to say, I think Charles suggestion was much better :-).
