Are Book Authors Good Potential Partners?

Hi, I'm thinking of contacting authors of books, not just for content but also for promotional JVs. Does anyone know if authors of books typically have lists of people who have bought their books?

Great question, but I'm not exactly sure. I do imagine the really sharp ones do. Though I don't think many authors have a clue about marketing per say

The opportunity in partnering with authors is they usually lack a back-end -- they just have a book. There is a lot of potential for massive profits if you broker a back-end for them, and you can make money on both sides of the transaction.

I completely agree with this. Imagine the opportunity you have available with just one book -- i.e. if it's a book on IM, you can connect them with someone who sells IM courses. It otherwise isn't likely to function the same as the type of list you're thinking of.
