5 Step Guide - How To Find JV Partners
Hey, my name is Ben Brandes, FusionHQ's affiliate manager. Just thought I'd share this 5 step guide to finding JV's.
Finding potential JV partners is one thing, getting them to respond and promote is a whole other ball game. There is a lot of great tips in this community covering that, so be sure to read through them.
When finding JV's the end goal (with regards to promoting your product) are usually:
* Promotional mailings
* Getting your product into the back-end of their sales funnel.
* Integration deals
* Maybe even doing a product together.
They key is to build a relationship first.
There are many different ways to find product owners. Below are the 5 most effective strategies I have used.
1. Look at upcoming launches, the main place being Mike's Community Launch Calendar in the IM niche.
Here you will see a list of product launches coming up. Click on internet marketing related products (which most of them are) and grab the information you need.
2. Go to internet marketing “Marketplaces”
These are sites that list their products affiliate program. Some of these sites include:
a. www.clickbank.com
b. www.paydotcom.com
c. www.ejunkie.com
d. www.fusionhq.com
3. Go to popular internet marketing forums (or forums in your niche)
Look through special offers, “JV” (Joint ventures) sections. Some popular forums include:
a. www.warriorforum.com
b. www.forums.digitalpoint.com
c. www.jvnotifypro.com/community/
To find more popular forums you can go to Google and search for internet marketing + forum
4. Find affiliate directories.
This is where people list their affiliate program – there are heaps of them. Google “list of affiliate directories” and go through at least the top 10. (NOTE: A lot of the same programs will be listed in different directories)
5. Leverage Your Network and attend seminars. (By far my Favorite)
Who do you know that you could potentially do a JV with? Who do those people know? Most big JV’s are done through personal relationships. My favourite way of connecting with people is going to events and hanging outside in the hallways chatting. After the event we usually head to the bar and have a chat over some drinks.
I always aim to buy them dinner and drinks - it goes a long long way, I highly recommend you try it out.
Find a way to add value, consider interviewing them and promoting it to your list, maybe promote their product first. Help them out. Be creative!
Enjoy
