Be creative (phone, singing telegram, etc. - that'd be funny) and have the numbers to back up your offer. And yes I'd say being in their coaching club (high dollar program) or a big affiliate would help get someone's ear.

To be brutally honest you probably can't until you "put in the time."Originally Posted by Razvan Moisoiu
Why would an established Internet marketer promote a product from a virtual unknown? They wouldn't except in rare cases such as it being a product that can't be had anywhere else. IMers have an unlimited source of products to promote to their list so they don't need yours.
But here are some ways to get their attention.
1. Build your own list/audience first. If you have a large list/audience, now you might be of more interest to a big name. Because I have a list of 60K in the IM field, some of the big names are willing to deal with me.
2. Be a top affiliate. Want Russell Brunson or Yanik Silver to promote your product? Join their programs and promote their products. Once you get to be a top affiliate of theirs, you will come to their attention.
3. Put your product on Clickbank. Many of the large names like to promote Clickbank products. I know I prefer to promote them over other products because I don't need to login to another spot to check commissions.
Just a few tips, but they do take work.

Great input. Gurus don't want to lose any stature with their list and want the highest EPCs possible. I have even heard that some of the top CB guys like Benwell generate over $3.00 EPC.
I approached a super affiliate recently about a product that is getting 9.00 EPC so far. I can prove it too and offered him this. I take 10% and the optins, he can take 20%.
Never heard back from him..

Having someone you know introduce you, is often
the best way to get your foot in the door.

Hi Ivan - Yes that is correct.
There is a need for an affiliate manager because the product owner has a lot to do.
So the affiliate manager goes and gets everyone hyped up and locked in for the launch. It is essential for any big launch to have one.
Getting the affiliates hyped and making sure they are going to mail is a full time job lol trust me!
I second what Craig said. One of the best ways is to meet people that know the big names. Your best shot to meet them is by going to IM seminars where you meet people live. The time during the breaks and after the speakers are done is often a lot more important than the actual seminar, because this is where you get to meet other Internet Marketers, where you can connect and build relationships.
Another great method is to promote for the big names first. They will hardly pay any attention to you if they don't know you. John Reese said that he'd only consider people that also made sales for him.
My 2 cents,
Mario

I think one of the ways to approach big names is to tip the scale in their favor. You always have to remember that you are the one asking for something. Not the other way around. Of course, the offer does not always have to be money. Sometimes, it just boils down to making your JV partner's life as easy as you can make it.
