Question About JV and First Product

    Hello Everyone,

I have not done a JV and I am in the process of creating a product. What I would like to know is, are you suppost to do a JV before you put your product on Clickbank or can a JV be done at any time even if the product is already on Clickbank for example?

    Thanks

    Dear Jermaine,

You can just create a product and add it to clickbank . Clickbank will review the product and approve the product if it falls under its terms and conditions.. You can also list it in their market place. No need to do any JV to list product in clickbank.

Thanks for the info, but I want to do a JV and I want to put a product on Clickbank. I hear JV's say new product being launched so my question is are they doing a JV launch before they ever put the product out on Clickbank or can you put your product out on Clickbank and still come back later and do a JV launch on it?

A JV (joint venture) has nothing to do with listing your product.

Even recruiting affiliates (which is the common use of "JV" in the IM world, I'm not sure why) still has no ties to when you get a product listed.

However, if you're looking to setup a launch promotion, your product should certainly be new. It doesn't have to be day 1 (in fact, ideally, it shouldn't as you want to test conversions, confirm your sales process and build testimonials etc) ... but it should be new.

If you're asking what the right order of things is...

Once you have the product and sales page ready, it's a great idea to test your sales page conversion rate by using testing software and send pay per click traffic to it or mail to a small list. Then you can refine and perfect it and maximize conversions.

THEN go after partners with stats--tell them you tested it and it converts at x%, etc. Never use JV partners as guinea pigs because you may never get another chance--the market has become so competitive that the real competition is not for customers--it's for JV partners. Make sure they make money when they promote for you, and you'll be set.

You can use Clickbank or just setup a page with a Paypal button, but don't expect just because you list a product on Clickbank a ton of people will find it and promote it. You need to give it a push to get it up in the search rankings on Clickbank before anyone will find it...

According to me I think going into a JV before creating a product is a better option. Saves the time of making your partner understand all the stuffs.

Re: Question About JV and First Product

Well said. As a product creator myself, I have to put my hand up and say that I thought that 80% of my work was in the product creation and 20% in getting the traffic, but having gone through the process now and created my first product, I realise that it's really the other way around (or maybe 95% traffic and 5% product?). There's really no way that one person can do all of that on his/her own, and that's why a community like this is SO valuable to people like me. That way I can focus on product creation, and partner with someone who is a top notch marketer so we can both benefit.

Having said that, I have to say that I'm pretty in the dark about the needs of marketing specialists. Therefore I've set up a post asking THE stupid questions that probably 80% of product creators like me have been afraid to ask and therefore end up doing stupid things that annoy the heck out of you.
