Here's something no one has mentioned:
Use the power of JVs...its not just for selling your products.
If you are in the IM market, and willing to create a product with value, one great way to build a list is through giveaway jv's. These are always going on and you can give away a product and build quite a list.
The other side of this that is overlooked by the average marketer is through bonuses in other peoples jv product. Go to people that are releasing products and let them know you have a related product you would like to offer their customers as a bonus. When they buy, to get your bonus, they optin to your list to recieve. This is a triple win for you, the product owner, and the customer, because everyone gets something out of it.
The key on all of this is that you must seek out the giveaways or owners of soon to be released products, and have a product of value that you can give away for free.
