    Technical Help

    Hi All,

Although Im new here and in affiliate marketing, I do have previous experience as a media producer (CD / DVD, etc).

The main problem Im finding with the affiliate marketing is to do with the technical side of physically coding html landing pages and OTO pages, crating countdown timers, and creating a good autoresponder service - Id much rather use a software package hosted on my server than a 3rd patty hosted one.

I have tried a couple of ads on elance.com to try and hire in the professional help - but have found to date that replies have not really been what I would call professional in this vertical sector.

Any pointers or help in this technical arena would be much appriciated.

    Best

    John

    Hi...
This is Stephane from Understanding PPC... For site building, it's better to use My Free Website Builder ... I think it's an Ewen Chia's freeware...

Regarding Header and Footer design, you can use gimp ... It's free image editing software...
Now, you can find you images on free PSD sites such as Official PSD or Deviant Art.... Use them along the design of your site...

Next step, take a look at you competitors' sales page try to imitate them (In the design sense) ....
Don't copy paste else you visitors will notice it... You sales copy needs to be original but must contain some basics...
    The introduction
    -The issue
    -The work
    -The solution
    -The social proof (testimonials)
    -The end

You need to stand yourself out of your competition...

Have a look at sites made by,
    Mike Filsman
    Rob Benwell
    Joel Comm
    ...etc

You'll have an idea at how you should design your sales page

Now you have your site ready...

Download a free ftp software Coreftp... Get ftp setting from your hosting server and host your site online...

Regarding auto responder, you need to buy a good one and pay someone to install it...

Go to freelance site... There you'll get someone to install your script...

But if you are ready to install one yourself, have a look at:

    http://infinite.ibasics.biz

Now you have your site (with a killer sales letter) and your newsletter ready...

    Hi Stephane,

Thanks for your reply - I alrady have software such as Dreamweaver, and I am happy uploading content to my host. It was really more of a case of the actual technicalities of certain html coding, etc. I have no problem paying for software to do the job - its just acase of trying to get the best option without wasting money. I am also trying to find a good keyword package - which again is problematic as I find that unlike conventional softeare sites, the sales sites are gained towards making sales as opposed to providing techinal pre-sales info.

As far as autoresponders are concerned, I looked at Interspire at $395 and found it not very friednly. I am also concerend to keep everything in-house as far as possible so you reamin in control unlike outsourcing to external companies.

    Thanks for your input.

    best

I think it's better to minimize cost when it comes to programming...

Paying someone to build a site like facebook may cost you your one year savings and months of work...
By using free facebook clone script, you can setup an identical site within 30 minutes...

The reason why I want to point out this fact is because setting up a business can cost you big though it could have been done with minimum expenses...

If time is a matter for you, I would advise you to use the joomla script...

With joomla, you can build a site within 1 hour, add a template to it...

    All this for free...

Check out resources of Joomla you'll understand why I'm praising this script:

    http://www.bestofjoomla.com/componen...tes/Itemid,78/

Having a 100 pages website is far more better than having a 1 page sales letter...

You'll be able to rank on the search engine for a broad range of keywords...

Your site will also look more professional and you'll standout from your competitors...

Just go to youtube and search for tutorials on how to install joomla...

It would be a good start...

Concerning autoresponder, I'll recommend you to use free plugins/module from joomla...

Simply search for 'joomla autoresponder' ...

So now that you have a killer site ranking for hundreds of keywords on the serach engine and that can be updated easily, it's time to add features to it...

Check out Joomla's plugins and you'll be able to add the following features to your site...

    A blog
    An article directory
    A classified ad section
    An image/video gallery

Take your time, setting up such a site can take you 1 month or less depending on your free time...

The only drawback of implementing the above system is that you'll become hated...

    .... by your competitors...

P.S If you are in affiliate marketing, here's a list of cpa network that do not need phone call verification. You can add a special section on your site where you display these offers...

    clickXchange.com
    darkblue.com
    essociate.com
sharesale.com (requires an email with your own domain)
    bluephoenixnetwork.com
    linkshare
    cj.com
    clickbooth
    capitall network
    comission xchange
    Coproser
    Affiliateer

    Wishing you all the best...

    Re: Technical Help

    John,

Regarding your desire to host your autoresponder rather than using a paid service:

    Here's something to consider....

Internet Service Providers love to "black list" marketers, even with double opt-in subscribers.....in particular, AOL will blacklist you if their customers report you as a spammer.

Bless their hearts, some people will sign up for an autoresponder series, use a double opt-in process, then report you for spamming them when they get tired of the messages.

In my experience, ISP's will not ever blacklist the large autoresponder companies like aweber.....so, even if you want to host it yourself, you'll have less trouble using an autoresponder company.

    Just my two cents' worth
