Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
I know this subject has been raised before, but as time goes by we all learn more, discover more and experience more.
Time for a re-visit.
Depending on your product, your needs and your launch, then you may be interested in some or all of the following from Set A:
1. The ability to do OTO's & downsells.
2. The ability to pay "invited JV partners" a higher commission rate than normal affiliates.
3. The ability to offer a second tier commission.
4. The ability to process customer details into a membership program where you can offer member-only downloads.
5. The ability to "seamlessly" include your customer details into your autoresponder service (like Aweber) when they sign up to your membership program.
6. The ability to automatically process recurring billing for monthly membership programs.
7. The ability to track all affiliate sales and make payments as and when required.
As I say, depending on your needs you may need some or all of the above.
My experience so far has been using Clickbank, 2Checkout, Paydotcom and Paypal. I also have experience of 1shoppingcart and Aweber as well as few other services.
However, in order to handle more complex product launches, I may need some or all of the following from Set B:
1. Merchant account
2. Gateway processor
3. Payment processor
4. Affiliate tracking & management software
5. Customer membership software
Now in order to match Set A with Set B, I guess I may need some of the following from Set C:
1. Paypal
2. Clickbank
3. 2Checkout
4. Paydotcom
5. Aweber
6. 1shoppingcart
7. Getresponse
8. LaunchFormulaMarketing
9. ButterflyMarketing
10. JV Manager 2 (Fantastos)
11. Powerpay.biz
12. Authorize.net
13. Amember
14. Membergate
plus many, many more which I am less familiar with... (feel free to add to my list of payment processors and affiliate management solutions)
The first task is trying to work out which category/categories in Set B do each of the programs mentioned in Set C fall into.
Then (having worked out what each program is capable of) the second task is to see which "combinations" of programs will satisfy your list of needs from Set A.
Of course, there may be more questions which crop up, such as do I really need a merchant account, but unless you know which part of the jigsaw a merchant account fits into (and knowing what it can do for you), then you may not be able to answer that question.
Over to you guys......Lets see if we can start to join things up. What program combinations do you use/recommend for being able to do tasks from Set A?

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Hi Chris
Well I can tell you the the butterfly script has a huge problem with authrize.net. A few hours before my launch Becky was testing everything one last time and we found out that it would accept any card number as a paid order even if the card was declined.
I'm sure this can be fixed but not a few hours before launch. But the butterfly script works great with everything else.
As most people know I'm a huge fan of the butterfly script, yes it has some bugs but what program is really bug free.
Plus it will do everything in list A and then some.
Things about your C list
LaunchFormulaMarketing - Robert Puddy has a great progam that works great. I know Mark Widawer very well and he loves it. That goes a long way in my book. But I have never used it so I can't say to much about it. I don't think it really ever caught on.
ButterflyMarketing - I use it and I know a lot of other people who do. The soical proff from the people who do use it is huge. Has a great members area that is 2nd to none. Plus it has been proven to work and you can get lots of custom work done for it.
Plus it will make members into affiliates which is HUGE.
JV Manager 2 (Fantastos) - Never used it but I know people how have and it seems to work fine.
Powerpay.biz - These guys are great to work with and this is how I got my Authorize.net account.
Amember - Works great, but you have to pay for every install and a upkeep fee. I have 1 seat of Amember and it works fine. I don't really like it very much but that is just me.
Membergate - Never used it but I know it works great from what friends have told me and the support is great.
BUT THERE IS A NEW KID ON THE BLOCK
http://www.extrememember.com/
I know the guy who created this very well and I have seen the back end of how this works and I can tell you it is everything most people could ever want in a membership software.
It really address the short falls of the above software and takes membership software to the next level.
PM me and I will put you in touch with Shane so you can see for your self.
Thanks

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Hi Charles,
OK, let me summarize...
Butterfly can do everything from List A (except 2 tier I believe where you need to amend the script using something from Becky Dielman?)
I have heard good things about LaunchFormulaMarketing but I'm not sure whether it can do point 2 - paying invited JV's a higher % commission over normal affiliates which is really important to me. But you're saying Butterfly can definitely offer this?
You're also saying Butterfly had a huge problem with Authorize.net (may be sorted now),
What else would I need in addition to Butterfly in order to complete the end-to-end picture?
1. Aweber (which I have)
2. Payment processors / merchant accounts ???
I may well look at Extrememember, but for now I'd just like to explore what other marketers currently use and recommend.
Thanks
Chris

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Hi Chris
After you get the butterfly script the only things you will need is
1. Aweberor GetResponse
2. Payment processors like Clickbank or C2Checkout or Paypal.
I'm going to PM you my phone number and you can call me and I answer any questions you have.
Thanks

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
I use JV Manager 2 (Fantasos) and it does pretty much everything you
would want it to do. I also own Butterfly Marketing script and yes it's a nice
script that I have used before, but don't like the fact that I need a new installation
for every new site I create.
With Fantasos you only need one installation for all your sites. Plus you can do so much
more like coupons, credit points, run resellers programs, and more.
I highly recommend Fantasos

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
I had a consultation with copywriter, David Garfinkel on Wednesday and he highly recommended Powerpay.biz to me for my payment processor. Says it's geared to be able to handle large volume changes in sales volume (like on launch day) without shutting you down, like other payment processors often do because they don't understand internet marketing and think there's some fraud going on. I trust David's recommendation and am going to use them when I'm closer to my launch.

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
I use Powerpay.biz and have had great results. Jennifer is right, they know Ebiz and can handle the volume of launch days without getting worked up.
This is an "unsung" side of the top guys and girls in the field. They have been down this road and lost thousands in sales using ineffective merchant accounts.
Make sure you tell Powerpay.biz that you are an online company that may have big one day events.
Charles thanks for the info on EtremeMember.

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Hi Chris,
I'm new to the forum but not to marketing. :-)
I use rapid action profits from Sid Hale. It integrates
through PayPal and has a lot of features IM'ers
are looking for.
It's worth checking out and can be an inexpensive
all in one script if you're just starting out.
My first launch was a small report for about 20 bucks
and we processed a lot of orders, (over 1k) in a few
days with NO problems.
It also pays affiliates instantly into their PayPal account.
That can be a major factor in attracting "heavies."
Hope that helps some,
David

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
This is something that a lot of people might want to check out, it is about a $1,000 savings.
Mike F. is having a huge launch right now and one of his OTO is the butterfly script for less then $500 plus some really great bonus.
So if you have every wanted the butterfly script and it was out of your price range this my be your time to get it and the bonus are worth it.
But the butterfly script make a great affiliate management program.
Thanks

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Hi, Guys!
Well i checked out most of these program/scripts and a lot of them are really expensive.
- I have setup:
Membership Site.
1 Time Payment (Products).
Clickbank to handle payments.
ECM for Affiliates and JV Partners.
For those of you who have a tight budget and woud like to setup it you`re self this is a great cheap opportunity!
Clickbank Setup 49$
DLGuard 129$ (I had an coupon)
easyClickMate 59$
With these tools i can setup, manage, process, track, add, remove, handle everything
it does require some knowledge of set upping but it works! ;)

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Hi Adis
I use to use the basic setup you have below of years and it always worked like a charm and for the most part was very easy to setup.
ECM and DLG are some of the best programs out on the market today.
Thanks

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Is Easy Click Mate really necessary?
I read the sales page but I am not sure
if it is worth it or not.
What are the key advantages?
-
Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
the big advantage to ECM is it will allow you to run multiple websites from 1 clickbank account. That in itself is no big deal. But the advantage is you can have one interface when someone joins your program and they can pick which one of your products they want to promote.
The disadvantage is if you are going to have newbie promoting your product they will get confused and just give up.
That is why I went to the butterfly script since it make it fool proff.

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Hi, Craig! ;)
ECM Is a great stand alone script.
The support on it from the owner ROCKS!
And the script it self is really good.
What it helps me with is, that all JV`s / Affiliates can join.
I can track who sells the most, they are given an member area where they can get all the resources you give them.
+ you can advertise more products + you can have you`re affiliates use their own landing page and you record the cookie ;)
(ie: http://www.your-site-name.com/sales....raig&url=THEIR SITE URL)
Ecm With DLG is a great setup and you don`t need any thing else! ;)

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
I have DL Guard but I am not convinced I
need Easy Clickmate.
-
Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Hi, Craig!
What`s your goal with DLG?
What is the issue?
Maybe i can help you out?
Thx!
-
Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
I am using DL Guard to protect my download page.
I"m just not sure what the value of Easy Clickmate is.
Do a lot of people use it?
I have never come across it in any of my promotions.
Or would I have not noticed it?

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Hi Craig
ECM is a good progam, but you probley don't need it. The one big thing I hate about it is that Newbe's get confued on how to promote you product. You need to replace a few things in the link to make it send traffic to the right site.
But other then that is works great.
Also the link they give you is nasty looking which makes it harder for people to steel your clickbank commsions.
It is a good program and works great for what it is designed to do.
Thanks

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Hi, Craig!
You`re absolutely right DLG you would use to protect your pages
ECM = Gives an JV / or Partner a sign up page.
From where you can give them banners, unique custom affiliate url (ie: clickbank id will not be reveald)
It gives you a great tracking system to handle your affiliates and jv`s.
How it works?
CLICKBANK -- > ECM (tracks the sale) forwards the user to -- > DLG download / memberpage.
This is all automated and will not effect your sales or clients, but it gives you the extra tracking.
And if you were to launch a product then the JV Pro (admin) would need access to your ECM for tracking reason. ;)
Thx!

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
I don't think I will use it on this launch.
Thanks for all the info.

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
So I finally put my site out there on Adwords to do some testing and optimize my sales letter and got some sales right off the bat! Pretty exciting! So now that I'm making some money, I thought it was time to sign up for my powerpay.biz account and start accepting credit cards instead of just PayPal. However, got some bad news when they told me that you need to have:
A. US Bank Account (not a problem, can easily open one of those at my bank)
B. A US Entity
Since I'm located in Canada and have a British Columbia Corporation for my business, I wasn't able to open an account with them.
Have any of my Canadian colleagues here run into the same problem? If so, what payment processor did you end up using? And are they web-friendly and big launch friendly?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
One thing is the paypal business premier account. It will works the same a authrize.net but with lower gateway fees.

Re: Payment processors & Affiliate management integration
Hi Charles,
I currently do have a PayPal Business Premier account and on my 1shoppingcart account I've got it set to PayPal Express Checkout, which only gives you the option written quite small on the page:
"Don't have a PayPal account?
Use your credit card or bank account (where available). Continue"
You have to take an extra step to get to a page where you can enter your credit card (if you don't have a PayPal account).
I spent 2 days on the phone with PayPal trying to get set up with PayPal Website Payments Pro, which would allow me to accept credit cards right on my first payment page - which yesterday they said was available in Canada, but today it is not and they don't have a set date yet when it will be. So now I'm back to square one - only accepting PayPal Express with the not-so-easy-to-find pay with your credit card if you don't have a PayPal account checkout.
I believe in keeping things simple for the customer and feel that the harder it is for them to pay, the more likely it will be that they will leave.
Does anyone have an other suggestions for a Canadian payment processor that won't shut me down if I get a large amount of orders flood in?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Have to second Charles. Butterfly Marketing Script works fantastically and having members becoming affiliates on signup can be a huge boost!
I am using it for my upcomming launch.
It is such a beast I don't even bother setting it up myself. I just get a programmer to set it up PROPERLY the first time and integrate all pages etc. Makes it much easier on my end.
Peace,
Nath
