Re: Should I do a re-launch?
Hey Chris,
Steven Johnson here...
I think you should do a re-launch...And with my launch being
over (The Quick List Formulas), I would even promote this time...
And you will get many more partners since it's on Clickbank...
How did you get them to approve a list building product on Clickbank
anyways? I couldn't get approved...
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
re: product approval -
I met some of the CB managers when they were over in London... and we just got talking. I think its still not their policy to allow list building products on a grand scale, but they're going to allow mine as a trial.
... so I guess I ought to do it, just to say thank-you to CB!
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
Hi Chris
its good you moved to clickbank..
but you should let some time to pass by before re-launching it again..
you should add some more solid content to the product before re-launching
its been hardly 1.5 months so you should wait for some more time
and @ Steven G. Johnson .. how bid did your list grow after the launch ?
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
Here is an idea.
You can either get different JV partners for a relaunch or
wait a bit and come out with Automated List Builder 2.
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
You can also change the model you were using.
e.g.
If it was a flat fee on the front end and an oto, change the front end to
$1 trial for 7 days, high priced upsell, low priced downsell, add somem ore
stuff to it.
I would try to make the sales page look as different as possible. You
are still 'relaunching' but the difference in model and site will make it
look new and can possibly be whats necessary to get previous jv partners
to promote again.
IMO
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
Hey Chris,
Yeah what about changing your sales model?
I'm sure you have a front and backend. Could they be put together for the front end... and then implementing a monthly continuity project for the backend.
As we are seeing it with Alex Goad n Chris X etc it may be a good 'band wagon' to jump on :)
Especially with clickbank it shows that affilaites are jumping onboard there products...
Tellman Knudson is a list building FREAK! having something with him like a live webcast or Ustream could be fantastic. But of course there are many list building tycoons out there :).

Re: Should I do a re-launch?
Hi Chris
Just think of the partners you could get now that were promoting TS2. Even if they wanted to promote you some people had there hands tied with TS2.
Plus to have a new hook maybe you should look at doing a F/C with some of your products. I did this last week with seocodebreaker. I took the videos plus some more videos and added them to freeseocd and now it is a phyical cd that is mailed to people. With a membership site and F/C in the back end.
You could take ALB and do something like this maybe with out the cd being mailed. Wrap it up as a membership site were you can proivde more value to the end user.
But F/C is all the rage right now.
Last week I got Frank Kerns Mass Control monthly program. This fool thing is $300 per month. He sold oout 2,000 units in 18 min.
After getting this thing $300 is cheap for what he is giving.
But what I getting at is that you are able to help more people with some type of membership program that has F/C.
As you know list building is the real key to making money online.
Each and every month you could show new things that you are working on.
But this is something to think about. Most people stay in a F/C program about 3.5 months on average and if they do stay longer they will be in it about 1 year.
Also you could do a $4.97 tiral then rebill them each month for 24.97.
Now to make it attractive to your JV's you could add in a killer oto so the JV's would see the carrot not the $4.97 trial.
Also the market in just begining changing in IM and has already changed in a lot of other niches away from the higher priced products to more of a F/C model.
The advantage is you get a lot more buyers at a lower price. Plus even if they want to quite.
I LOVE THIS!
You can email them telling they you are sorry to see them go. But you want to help them any way you can and if price is the issue you can help them with you lower priced membership. Now they can get everything they would get as a Gold member just at a lower price.
Then you still give them access to everything "in my case - the cd now it's just digital" for only half the price.
This has about a 54% save rate.
Thanks
Charles Kirkland
P.S. Chris is you want to take a peek behind the door and see how I did the free cd thing let me know.
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
Yeah, like what Dr. Kirkland said. Do the F/C and with the DVD and the L M N O P. :)
In my opinion, if you re-launch too close to the original launch, people get the idea that you either didn't do well in sales, or the product is garbage and you need to push it more. One problem I see with a re-wrap is that the people who bought the first one may see "Part 2" and buy it only to be upset they bought the same thing. Unless you come up with two sets of the re-launch. One for first time buyers with the added bonus of perhaps the F/C, and the second only for those who purchased the first one already and would like to "upgrade" to the new F/C at a fraction of the cost.
I suggest going back to the drawing board to see what you can change after maybe sending out a survey to those who bought the first one, and changing it up a bit on those suggestions and then do a re-launch in maybe November or closer to Christmas.
All I know, as a newbie, is that I wouldn't want to buy the same thing twice by accident because then you would lose credibility in my eyes as a scam artist. But if I liked the first one, then for sure I'd upgrade to the F/C.
BTW, what's an F/C? ;D
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
F/C is forced continuity
Done right it is a win win for everybody. Done wrong and you will have problems like you can't dream about.
Thanks
Charles
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
I'm looking at doing something similiar with my upcoming launch. I decided on a product just under $100 and a OTO with F/C on the backend for the upsell.
I'm curious with ClickBank, do you have to register both your main product and your OTO with CB or is the OTO handled separately?
Jeff
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
CB approval is a bit of a lottery.
In previous cases for myself I've just needed approval for the main product and then for the OTO they never even knew about it
I simply added it as a separate item.
However, I do know of others who've had trouble with OTO approvals with CB.
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
My thinking is........
I went to a lot of hassle to get CB approval for my list building product. Basically CB have not allowed any list building products for something like the last few years. However, I got talking with their security guys and explained that my product was all white hat so would they be prepared to host it.
So, I definitely want to move it across to CB - the question is do I do another launch to maximize sales rather than just simply move it.
Either way, I'd have to let my existing affiliates know that I'm planning to switch it in good time, so they can amend their affiliate links.
We're then left with do I:
Change the product considerably to warrant a ALB2 or do I just stick with the same with maybe one or two enhancements?....... My main priority is a brand new product I'm working on for launching later in the year - I cant really afford the time to change ALB very much, so I'll probably stick with more or less the same product.
Next consideration is JV partners:
Existing partners who promoted first time round are probably not wanting to bother promoting again especially if its within 3 months.
However, I'm sure I can attract a whole bunch of new JV partners, especially those who dont like PDC.
My thinking is to tell my current JV partners about the re-launch, but ask them to sign up on a separate Aweber list if they want to be part of it again.... and I'll perfectly understand if they want to pass on it.
I'll then target new partners somehow and get them on to the new Aweber list.
How does this sound?
BTW my next product is going to be a recurring membership so I'd like to discuss F/C at some point but that's for another day.
Chris
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
Thanks Uncle Chuck. I do know what forced continuity is, I just didn't make the connection with F/C. I'm suffering with a migraine today. So not much is making sense to me.
Have a great day.
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
Hi Chris
I think you have it worked out. No matter how many people promoted on the first time
you always have people who could not promote. This is a great reason to contact them
and get some new JV's that you didn't have before.
Charles
Re: Should I do a re-launch?
Chris,
I'd agree, go with a relaunch and maybe ad a few small features.. maybe make this a 1.5 release.
When you say the CB didn't know about the OTO, were you direct linking to paypal for your oto? I'm trying to work out the details on my launch now. I'm unsure whether to use CB or not.
