Re: Somebody who has expierence with building a list?
lol Curtis is always right to the point! It's a good thing ;)
He's hit it right on the head, once you've trained your list, you can pretty much get them to do whatever you want them to do and that's your objective, no matter what price point you're selling a product/service at. The reality is, you're always going to have a variety of people with different scales of income on your list, but it's up to you to convince all of them of why they need to buy that product/service, again no matter the price point.
I don't know of any IM'ers that conduct research from their lists (I use google for that personally), surveys yes (again as Curtis stated) and that's usually done with a giveaway of some sort.
Re: Somebody who has expierence with building a list?
i too would like to build a relationship list to eventually sell to.. i have read posts from some of the most successful marketers and they all get great conversions from lists.
with so many different niches available to people do you have to build specific list for specific niches or can you pretty much sell anything in any niche to your list once established?
in terms of free giveaways for your list - how can you determine what is high value item that is suitable as a freebie giveaway?
i understand most lists builders give away ebooks but how do you know if its a suitable enough giveaway?
thanks
Re: Somebody who has expierence with building a list?
damian,
it would be hard to sell gardening items if you build a money making list yet there is some cross over in the money making field niche, internet marketing has multiple steps - outsourcing, listbuilding, SEO etc.
so you have some leeway within a niche
determining value - would someone want to read, listen to or watch what you put out and would after consuming your free giveaway, would they want to come back to you? that's vital in determining "suitability"
many "gurus" actually use some of the course material in their free stuff.
