To be honest, in my experience ... it's better to give than expecting to receive, at least in the early going.
JV relationships are 2 way ... and how you're going to carry your end of it has to established from the get go.
Long story short, your best bet is to sell yourself, your knowledge, your experience, and what you have to offer potential JV Partners rather than simply looking for someone to promote your wares ... unless you're recruiting simple affiliates, which is fine ... but I would make that clear.
