The Million Dollar Question...

Could someone experienced please advise me?

I've just been sent a product which is being marketed online which is currently being offered to the public, at a much too low a price. (Under $10)

In it's present form it's a series of eBooks (7) within a single package. All of the material therein contained has been written by the author. It is not some rehashed BS.

This product is for the writing niche - how to take your writing skills up to the next level to bring in much better pay.

A massive niche by any stretch of the imagination.

It also includes a lot of top notch marketing advice, with a hell of a lot of material which could prove to be... very highly beneficial for anyone assisting offline businesses with their marketing.

Now, I've advised this individual to think about first turning this whole product into a set of audio files and after that...

Creating a series of step-by-step 'look over my shoulder' videos.

Certainly there is more than enough material to really pack this very high quality product out.

There is no fluff in this series of eBooks at all. In fact it's one of the best eBooks I've ever seen on this subject. Written in a conversational style, it's full to the absolute brim with extremely valuable information. What's more, this info pitched properly... is undoubtedly in very high demand.

Currently being sold at under $10 is just sheer lunacy. The product owner, being a kind soul wanted to keep the price low, so anyone could afford this. In my view a big mistake.

Just the series of eBooks by themselves, such is the amazing high quality of the advice contained within these pages, that I think this person could quite easily charge $497+ for this information. If not $997. It really is top notch. One of the best products I've seen in a very long time in this particular niche.

Adding audio files and video and/or DVDs can only increase the value tremendously. If produced professionally, I have very little doubt this could be a $5,000 product. Sure, I could be wrong on the figures... some of you are better placed than I am to advise upon such matters.

That said, I do believe and I'd stake my reputation on this... that this might just be a very valuable resource indeed IF it is packaged up properly. The future higher price tag would also leave quite a bit of room for negotiation, on the affiliate commission offered.

Now, here is the million dollar question...

How is it possible to get one's foot in the door to get some of the biggest names in the Internet marketing industry to promote this... to their very substantial opt-in list subscribers?

In short, I strongly believe that once all of the preparatory work has been accomplished - completed to a very high standard... this could just be... a million dollar launch product.

How can I get the ball rolling in the right direction?

Any advice from very experienced product launch managers or other very experienced Internet marketers would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you're passionate about this product.

Just make sure you're 100% sure that the product owner isn't keeping the book priced low for a reason.

Maybe he's found a stunner of a lead-builder and / or is building a list of buyers.

Have a good look at the product and funnel and see what he's doing with each buyer once they grab it. It might be that he thinks it's worth more too and he's found a great way of leveraging that fact.

Both the individual who owns this product and myself are in close communication with each other.

You're never going to get the biggest names in Internet marketing to promote your product. For one your product is only $10, I don't know what commission is being paid out, but even at 75% commission thats only $7.50 per conversion. Why would someone send that to their list when they can promote a product that pays $50, $100, or a larger recurring amount? The answer is simple, there is no way they are going to.

Also, people with large lists use those list to build relationships with other people with large lists. You promote my product launch and I will promote yours. If you cannot keep help them they certainly dont want to waste time helping you.

You will be far better off serving your product if you contact other people with lists similar size to yours or maybe slightly larger. I assure you no big time marketer will promote the product no matter how good the product is.

It's true that the writing niche is a big one but you didn't say what part of the writing niche it is aimed at.
Copywriting
TV and film scripts
factual
storytelling
reporting
sales copy

to name but a few.
You would need to check the competition in the area concerned and work out if you can put together a similar product like someone who is doing it already. Basically, reverse engineer what they are doing and work out if you can compete.

You would also need to identify people with lists in your niche and guage if you would have a chance of doing a deal with them.

As Chris says, you will rarely get the big list owners to promote an unknown product or person. This is why it is important to be an expert in a given niche. Maybe the person who created the product may have enough weight to be able to get leads.

Of course I'm well aware that no one will be interested in promoting this at $10. This goes without saying. I'm not that stupid. Good grief.

I haven't been in business for close to 30 years without at least understanding the absolute basics of marketing and business by now.

The product in question has been very much so, undervalued. I thought I explained this in my opening post above. Perhaps you missed this point Chris?

The purpose of my initial inquiry is to try and bring on board one or two well known marketers who might be interested in promoting this... when the product in question has been fully brought up to scratch.

At this current moment, as it is right now, knowing the market well enough from my own very extensive copywriting experience and the value of similar products, (which products I've often been called upon to provide my own expertise to determine a final asking price) I know this product is being offered at far too low a price to the general public.

My personal evaluation of the product in it's present form (as it is right now), it's worth at least $497 for the value it brings... to it's intended target audience.

This leaves a great deal more room for a sensible return for any marketer wishing to promote this.

And when the product owner enhances the overall package (as I mentioned) the value / end price can only increase exponentially. Which in turn will create an even greater profit margin for anyone willing to take this on and to promote it to their list or acting as an affiliate.

Specific product niche is helping article writers to take their business up to the next level, away from earning mere pennies on the pound to earning up to $125 per hour.

It contains a massive amount of information extremely relevant to anyone in this market.

No fluff, no BS, no pages packed out with useless garbage... just very sound and excellent business advice and very good tips together with a full list of software tools for writers to utilize and also includes a complete marketing workplan.

Obviously I can't give away too much at this stage. I'm just putting out feelers to inquire of minds with greater expertise in this area.
