Question on launching my first IM product
Hello all,
I am gearing up to release my first Internet Marketing training course soon ( i do have another product in the Guitar Learning niche) and I wanted to get some opinions on timelines.
I am looking to launch at the beginning of November and i wanted to get some thoughts on how much time most people give themselves for pre launch and notifying other JV's.
My product is ready to go and all the JV promo materials are ready, just curious as to how much time most marketers give themselves before they let all their JV's know their launch date.
Any ideas would be great!
Re: Question on launching my first IM product
You have very little time. Do you have already JVs? If not... that is the problem.
Re: Question on launching my first IM product
I do have a bunch of JV's that are going to help me promote it so it has more to do with making sure I maximize the potential of the product and the whole launch process.

We are on the same boat. Working hard for your first launch. :D
Re: Question on launching my first IM product
There's no question that more time to setup the tease, do the pre-selling, capture the leads, sort out the serious leads (into early notification lists or by having them interact with the pre-selling process), recruiting affiliates, reminding JV partners etc... the more time you can allow, the better.
I have "my baby" (that's just on paper right now), the biz that I anticipate to push to 8-figures ... it has roughly a 9 - 10 month pre-launch window with teaser content and various steps through out that year (won't be live until late 2011).
And you're probably well aware that when a new video game system, or movie, or operating system or even a limited edition line of shoes gets released... there are often MONTHS of buzz building being done.
It's ideal to give your JVs a heads up 2+ months out, a strong invitation/pitch 30-days out, a follow up 1-week prior and then your general aff/JV communications for that week prior/during/after the launch.
