You're Leaving Money on the table with video - Here's Why
Hi Gang,
Some of you may have attended the Canadian Marketing Summit recently..and as usual some of the best information is delivered in the hallways.
As video is a staple in our industry it is causing some to lose massive amounts of money....
This is simply fixed at the editing stage, so don't panic!
As you edit your video make sure you take the time to implement the following settings
Video 225 kb/s, Audio 33 kb/s mono, and 15 frames p/s.
Here's why.
Broadband connection in most developed countries is 256 kb/s and it cannot load a video with any speed if it is rendered at 800 kb/s which is where many editors default to.
Imagine your customer sitting there with their credit card, your killer copy loads with a video you worked hours on and it takes 60 seconds to load....bye bye customer.
Give it a shot next time you make a cash sucking video for your sales page or member site.
take care
todd

Thanks for sharing that. I'll include that in my Final Cut Pro custom defaults the next time I render a video.
Awesome tip!

Thanks for that! I think using some sort of a script to detect connection speed and serve the best video is the way to go. Anyone knows of a player that supports this feature?
