Re: list building advice?
Hi Jordan,
This is the first I've ever heard of Getsubscribers. I just checked it out and while it is run by reputable people (i.e. CEO of Getresponse), I wouldn't go about getting subscribers that way because you're basically buying leads. Granted, the leads you're getting are probably far better than the run of the mill bought leads, but a lead who has specifically gone through your optin box is preferably to a bought lead. It looks rather pricey as well.
A great way to build a large subscriber base, as Willie Crawford can attest to, is through giveaway marketing. Have you had any experience with them? You should check out Guido Nussbaum's upcoming New Years Giveaway and Bill McRea's upcoming Newbies Training Giveaway.
Another excellent way to build your list would be to create a short report or some type of product and offer it as a free WSO. As long as you provide quality, lots of people will jump on it. Alternatively, you could offer a cheap WSO and make a little cash along with building your list.
Good luck,
Curtis
Re: list building advice?
Excellent advice Curtis!
Posting free WSO's in the Warrior Forum can be extremely effective. You can easily get hundreds of very qualified subscribers using this technique.
I also like to do a lot of guest blogging. There are lots of blogs that are openly looking for guest bloggers. Rosalind Gardner's
http://www.netprofitstoday.com/blog/...guest-blogger/
and CarlOcab.com both allow guest posts. The key here is to offer a high-quality
report or video course in your resource box (which links to your landing page). I like to create videos because it helps you stand out.
You could easily get to 2,000 subscribers using just these two techniques, and then I would definitely start doing some ad swaps.
Here's the really cool thing about ad swaps...
You can actually do ad swaps with the same people every month. Here's how it works...
You see both of you are constantly getting new subscribers, so each month you'll have an entirely new group of subscribers on board. So you can swap ads again with your NEW subscribers from the past month.
There's an option in Aweber that allows you to send your broadcasts to a segment of your list. So you can send your email to only those subscribers who have subscribed in the past 30 days.
Hope this helps!
Re: list building advice?
Thank you both for great advice!
Curtis -- Just signed up for Guidos NY giveaway, I would've put your name in as a referral but didn't know where to do it.
Kim -- I will def look into the guest blog thing, sounds like a good idea!

Re: list building advice?
I've been building me a nice list through Ezine Articles.
Some of my articles have like a 50% click through rate, and a 50% Opt in rate.
Also, you should try to do some Yahoo PPC, the cost per click is a lot cheaper...
Re: list building advice?
Kim Roach,
Thanks for your nice tips. :)

No worries, I wasn't looking for any referral points. I don't think I'm allowed to post referral links anyhow :P
Now that you've joined one of Guido's giveaways, you're going to be notified of future ones as well, so there won't be any shortage of list building opportunities for you. My advice here is to only join the giveaways which are time limited (i.e. a month or less) and that have professional graphics. If it's slapped together and hurts you to look at it, don't join.
Good luck!

Re: list building advice?
Free stuffs will build you a massive list. When I first tried to build a list I decided to build a list with peoples who wanted to make money online and I collected some online paying survey sites and compiled as a free membership site.
And I just used the site address in my forum signature while I post in some other money making newbie forum. The peoples who are newbie and looking for free stuffs signed up for free (actually fell for it ;))
And I am not sure but I was able to built roughly 730+ in 4-5 months, But you must be careful because the list I built is full of freebie seekers, so selling to them will not be effective but CPA offers??? They are the winners.
Every email you send out will me a worth of $2 or $3
How is that....? :o
Re: list building advice?
Doing a free WSO works great. I just ran one and got about 75 subscribers in the first 3 days.
Re: list building advice?
Hi Jordan,
I'm new on this forum, but thought I'd respond to your list building question.
I have a small list (400 and growing) and I got all of them through article marketing. What I do set up a squeeze page, then write articles. I use the url of the squeeze page in my article bio box. I get about 50 new subscribers with every article.
Hope that helps!
