This book was published on 29th August 2014.
It is a chronicle of the author's travels around the world. The author relates the family adventures and describes places visited and the wonderful times she and her family had in their travels.
When I was a student of Geography in my school days, I read about places like the Mediterranean Sea, the Rocky Mountains, the Niagara Falls, the Mississippi River, the River Rhine, the River Seine, the River Spree, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Vatican, the Eiffel Tower, and other places that I never dreamed that I would visit. In fact I never liked Geography and never spent much time studying for it. God has blessed my husband and me with opportunities to visit those places and many more across the world. I decided to share them in a book with pictures and thus the idea of “Travel Memoirs with Pictures – Exploring the world” came about. The book is not a travel guide. It is a chronicle of our travels and our experiences. Having just returned from a trip to London, Paris, Dusseldorf, Cologne, and Berlin, those places are still fresh in my mind and the first chapters of the book describe our adventures in those cities. In Paris we visited the Louvre Museum of Paintings and what a great experience that was. There were so many paintings to look at. The visit to the Louvre took us a whole day and yet we could not see all the magnificent works of art by so many famous painters. We did however view the most famous painting in the world – the Mona Lisa – but only from a distance, as there was a massive crowd trying to get photos of that painting by Leonardo da Vinci.
The largest painting in the world – The wedding feast in Cana – certainly caught our eye. The stunning painting by Italian painter Paolo Veronese was so huge that we could not get a proper shot with our camera.
Luckily we could have purchased copies of our favorite paintings in the museum shop. Paris had so much to see and the shopping was great. In Dusseldorf the highlight of our visit was a cruise on the River Rhine. It was so relaxing and divine. Cologne is an amazing city, Its train station is similar to Grand Central Station in New York. It was very exciting to visit Berlin. The city is beautiful and memories of its dark history are only found in souvenirs and tourist attractions. We landed at the Tegel airport in West Berlin and left via the Schonefeld airport in east Berlin. The people are extremely friendly and helpful in Germany. “Travel Memoirs with Pictures – Exploring the world” is available in Kindle Edition only. Available in Kindle Edition at Amazon
