Hey everyone it is Jason. I can finally say I am not a total n00b as I have gotten all my sites up on google in the top positions that I said I would promote: ALB, OAC, GN. I know its alot but as my subject says I need to build my list. So I decided to do what I could which was a lot to my surprise and hope that I can generate some leads. Do any of you have some pointers for going about starting your list. Everything is set up, clickbank hop, autoresponder optins, web forms, messages and broadcasts. Thank you for your support and motivation for all us beginners getting started in IM.

HI Jason,
I am in the same position.
My trigger finger is poised, all sites ready, autoresponders and forms all set up and eager for some action.
Then everything seems to go flat as i am not getting anyone to opt in so not getting
any list to use my autoresponder on.
This is one aspect i am finding very frustrating and i am looking to start using ALB to help this improve
but it seems to me that without a list, your stuck, as most of the poeple who guys like me and you are competing against (the big names here etc) have huge lists which completely negate our efforts
at getting on the front page of google for ANYTHING that we are competing with these dudes for.
But i guess everyone started with 0 list so lets just see what happens and keep toiling my friend
we WILL get there :)

Hey Mark thanks for the inspiration. It is pretty disheartening after you spend all the time learning everything, testing it out a little trial and error, and you finally get it all out there for people to go to and all you can do is wait. So wait I shall and just tweak things and update I guess. But I hear ya these guys do have the advantage but like you said they started with 0. It would be interesting to hear their stories about starting things don't you think?

Hey Jason,
Yeah i am eager to hear how they managed to build up those 10,000 + Lists :O
Just any list will do, i actually considered buying a list yesterday just to get me started but then th emisses talked me out of it as those lists are totally untargeted and probably just get you thought of as a spammer.
Come on doodes give us your insight to the List building secrets ;)
If you havent already seen Craig Becktas "Secret Affiliate Code" you hsould check it out, he says he didnt have a list and still managed huge profits in a month, i am currently utilising the SAC word for word and step by step on ALB to see what happens,
keep up the struggle brother, lets get there then maybe we could even swap our N00B LISTS - then the BIG BOYS would be in trouble ;) ;)

ANY and ALL advice is welcome guys/gals. That sounds great Mark. I actually was introduced here by Craig
and his SAC. Big ups to him he is such a class act and he is making a world of a difference and putting his
name on the map. I'm also implementing what Craig has outlined for ALB, OAC, and GN. I've also coupled
that with PPC. So we shall see indeed Mark and I will take you up on swapping our N00B lists haha.
Mark Gray

Yeah Craigs SAC seems to be the ticket if you dont have a List.
I tried PPC once, lost more than i made so i shy away from it now :(
I was going to do GN (its going to be huge) but they seem to be a little
slow (compared to ALB) with things like Review copy etc for putting on Squidoos
and as i am rubbish at writing original articles i wil ljust concentrate on ALB now i think
and see how that goes.

Yeah I know what you mean about the PPC. I am using Craigs advice about the targeted keywords. And
since I have two products launching within the next couple days that I'm promoting it will be a good test run.
But check out my site for GN.

HI Jason,
I am IMPRESSED with your site, and you may very well have just answered
the question i just posted :O
Do you find that having your own domain name with the squeeze pages as
subdomains works well? It looks great and is exactly what i have been thinking about.
BTW is that your VOICE on those pages? If so where did you learn to talk
like a Marketing Guru :P:P:P

Hi Guys,
My name is Tarun Aka Carson.
I started my list building efforts from January, 08 and by now i have list of over 2500 double opt in members.
My fist list building process was started using ebay. I simply use those $0.01 auctions to build my list (And yes, it really worked), unfortunately ebay banned the selling of digital products and this broke my continuous flow of '20-30' leads per day. Even today i manage to get 30-40 targeted leads everyday using the power of Mike's ListDotCom. Initially, i never believed in this list building process as i was those, looking for 'Make $1000 everyday' scams, later this year i understood the importance of list. i read some where 'Money is in the List' and now i really understood the meaning of this priceless phrase. From my experience i can say that you will get those 'dis-hearten' moments in your list building efforts but if you overcome it and continued your 'List Building' offer, you will really enjoy long lasting income :)
Sorry for 'errors' as my native language is not English :)
Thanks

Hi Everyone,
I started in IM last July without a list.
It is easier to make money with a list
that is for sure.
But it is also possible to make money without
one as well.
If you have top spots in Google you will receive traffic.
List building takes time and you also have to
nurture it as well.
Don't become discouraged and give up to easily.
Practice the basics and make adjustments along the way.
If you stick it out you will be rewarded.
Great squeeze page BTW I like the audio track.
Also, don't forget that you can apply the same traffic
principles to other niches as well.

Thanks for the encouragement Craig and Tarun. I'll check out Mikes ListDotCom
I was just looking to see how long it took some of you to build your list to where
it is today. I'm not going to give up and fill highly accomplished because I have
a squeeze page done just as well for ALB and OAC already. So I just have to tend
my sites and wait. Once again Craig thank you for all your hard work. You have made
it that much 'easier' to get into IM and actually start on the right foot. SAC is like my
IM bible now haha and for good reason too. ;D

Hi Everyone,
List building is no big secret it just takes time. As with almost every part of internet marketing list building is about developing a system and working that system.
Here are a few suggestions for building your list.
1. Writing articles for submission to article directories or ezines. The main thing here is to make sure you include a link back to your site in your signature file at the bottom of the article. Ideally you would want the link to go to a squeeze page where you would offer a free product or ecourse or something of value for their email address. Also make sure it’s good content.
2. Social Media Marketing. My space, face book, you tube, stumble upon…etc
3. Joint Ventures.
4. Blogging.
5. Tell a friend scripts.
6. Co-opts.
7. Giveaways. This can build your list really fast but it may not be as targeted as you would like. I have had good success with giveaways and continue to participate in at least one per month.
Hope this helps,
Al Andrews

HI,
I am finding it very frustrating having no list.
I am beginning to see that without a list you really dont stand a chance of making
a living in affiliate marketing.
I have had ALB on front page of google for almost 5 days now and NOTHING
not 1 opt in.
Now this is probably more to do with my marketing techniques than anything else
but it seems to me that when product releases come around, lets say Google Nemesis
for example the people who are making all the money with least effort
are the ones with large lists.
I have followed a proven IM course to the letter with ALB and GN
with 0 success. Now dont get me wrong, i am not saying this doesnt work,
i know it works, it obviously has something to do with the way
i am creating sites etc (probbaly the lack of original content)
but it seems imperative to me that you MUST have a list.
26,000 video views in 20 hours for GN !!!!
You just know the big hitters with 1000`s on their list are
laughing all the way to the bank, while us small doodes
are lucky to make 1 sale (although i didnt expect to with GN
as i missed the boat).
I just wanted to say this to make a point - i dont beleive for 1 second
you can make a decent living without a list, offcourse everyone
may have started without a list (maybe not as you can buy them)
but its a hell of as hard slogg getting one started thats for sure.
I say keep on going, refining, learning, getting tips from some of those "big hitters"
and i "HOPE" that at some point, you (we) will start to hit the right
buttons and slowly but surely the list will start to grow.
I for one will definately be trying out ALB in my up comming
projects to see what difference this makes.

Hey Jason:
You might like to check out your spelling on your squeeze page. I didn't read it all, but for example you've misspelt "receive".
Cheers, Dave.

I can relate man. It is a slow process and its just going to take TIME
and lots of it unfortunately. I say as long as we can get some leads
here and there on all these product launches eventually we
will have something thats longer than a to-do list haha. I have a few
subscribers and more unverified leads. But I believe there is some truth
in that you can make money without a list but it is like pulling teeth
if you are the little man on a budget going up against those with deep
pockets and a huge list. Lets just hang in their man and soak up more
info.

I have been building my list in the water4gas niche for about 2 weeks now and get about 3 leads per day out of 100 or page views or so. I tried the pop-up box and did not get a better opt in rate. I guess this is about what I can expect for that landing page. Is that a good opt-in rate or not? I am not sure. I make plenty of sales from the landing page but hardly anybody signs up for my newsletter. Maybe there is some way to optimize your page to increase the opt-ins without detracting from your affiliate link that you of course want them to click on. I thought the hover ad would be the silver bullet but I think people may find it irritating. Does anyone have any thoughts on that? Half the time people never verify their address which I don't understand. Oh well...its slow going but we'll get there.

Hey Guys,
When I made sales for Mass Control and Product Launch Formula 2.0
I did not have an email list in the $2000 price range.
Yet I was able to make sales based on the amount of traffic
I received.
I had over 1200 hits in 30 days for PLF 2.0.
If you are on the first page of Google you will make sales.
It is really the only way to do it besides using Adwords.
If I can do it anyone can...

I did get on the first page of google for one particular keyword "halfwaterhalfgas" if you check it out you will see my wordpress blog and a few other things up there. however I have not made any sales yet with those but Im sure I will. I think I optimized for the wrong words because I thought there was less competition for halfwaterhalfgas then there is for half water half gas, but also less sales so I just use ppc and do see a good ROI so im going to leave it for now...But I did accomplish something by optimizing my pages and that is that I proved to myself that Craig's methods really do work (not that I had any doubt) and am 100% confident that I can go out there and optimize for some new launches and get some free sales which I have began to do...
I am not crystal clear on one concept from SAC and maybe someone can help me out....Do you optimize your keyword density (not including the tags) for all your pages for the same keyword? I dont see how you put "product name + revew" as 3% of your article and not make it sound awkward. If you just optimize all your sites for just the "product name" are you going to be at a disadvantage on launch day?
Thanks everyone for your input,
Mason

Hi,
Most searches are for the product name.
You can try to work in the product name review but
it is a little difficult at times to make it look natural.
Just try your best to create a smooth flow.

I have been marketing online for about two years
now, but I didn't start building my first list until
January 2008...
My Internet business has become very successful for
me because now have an IM list of over 200,000 active
subscribers!
Actually, most of the income for my business comes from
my list, so I can honestly say that having a list is very
very valuable!
Here's a screenshot of my account as proof:
http://i35.tinypic.com/nyadm9.jpg
I now have huge list in many different niches as well.
I build my lists very quickly using a variety of different
methods.
My new guide, The Quick List Formulas, is launching on
July 23, 2008...in it I reveal all of the techniques that I
use to build my lists...I even giveaway a secret
method that brings you the most targeted subscribers
that are ready to buy anything you promote to them.

Hope I can help...

Hmm that is very interesting. if I am mistaken the general concensus on non incentive paid leads/pre enrollees aren't worth it. I will have to put my time... I guess my main obstacle would be getting the needed traffic. some of you have seen my squeeze pages n liked them but do you fair better with opt ins following the less is more and kind of wet their appetite approach...then sell em on you thank you after they verified or through your emails. I want as much advice as possible...want to get it right.

None of my leads are paid for...
They all opted in through the many squeeze pages that I have setup...
It is not at all hard to build a huge list...it just takes a little time and effort
There are a lot of ways to build lists and if you use them all at once, your list
grow in no time at all...
All the best,

Can you please share some of these methods? I know PPC is a good way.
Thanks.

Hi Rahul,
PPC is actually one of the best ways to quickly build a list...
Social networking is another great way to find targeted
subscribers for your list....
These are the two main methods that I use.
Hope this helps,
Steven
