Well I suppose I should have done this a long time ago when I signed up here, but have not had the time to get to it, so here we go:

Hello I my name is Darren, I am a developer by trade and working on becoming a marketer. I have been coding for over 20 years now. My day job involves working on websites, firewalls and custom applications.

I actually took steps to get involved in marketing last August when I signed on to do a marketers help desk. Since then I have done two JV's with the same marketer.

I'm up here in Vernon, BC, Canada (the Okanagan), a very nice, warm place in summer and a little cool in winter when we get some snow.

I've been taking some marketing courses, but have not yet ventured down the road by myself. Like many other newbs, I've bought a ton of ebooks :) But actually none since last August.

Well I'm looking forward to more discussions and being involved.

Darren

Glad to have you, Darren ... welcome to JVNP.

I'm sure you've noticed that Canada is well represented here ... you'll be right at home. ;)

Best,

Mike

Welcome Darren, I just read your other post, which was very good. Sounds like you have a lot of experience developing, always good to have someone with your expertise on board.

Good luck with the marketing class, but I have a feeling you’ll learn a lot more in here.

Yes, lots of experience, over 20 years of coding. The last eight years has been almost entirely online.

Thanks for the kind comments, and I am hoping I can pick up a thing or two from around here.
