It's bad enough that someone who isn't well versed doesn't understand the big picture of what's being presented in clever (though "honest") marketing and sales letters...

When you couple that with an entire group of no ethics, me-me-me, low-life trash bastards... it can really start to take a toll on the confidence beginners have about online business.

This is a MUST read:

Confessions of an Internet Marketing Scammer:
http://www.imnewswatch.com/2011/03/21/confessions-of-an-internet-marketing-scammer-by-eric-holmlund/

He even "confesses" to try and prove how he's out-smarting everyone. I could dance circles around his tactics. So could many others if they wanted to follow his pathetic lead. He's an amateur self-interested low-life bastard. But instead many (like me, you and thousands of others) choose to be ETHICAL and MORAL in everything we do.

Personally I'd want to slap this guy around just for trying to pretend to be smart. He doesn't win brownie points for being "honest" as his honesty is just another selfish act of him trying to feed his ego. His actions are childish, basic and very disgusting. But, he's part of a group of plenty of others who engage in lies and deception. I've come across a few in my time as well.

The negativity aside (normally I'm a very positive, optimistic and upbeat person), the article will be a good read especially for beginners to at least understand why they should never take things at face value.

In the comments for Eric' blog post... I posted this and personally I hope the proper authorities take action and freeze his accounts and get him behind bars:

"Precisely.

Just shut him down. Aweber should work to track down his account(s) and close them. His hosting provider (where-ever the squeeze pages that his ad-swaps were promoting are) should shut him down... his PayPal should block him... Warrior Forum can close his current accounts and release a public statement on WF regarding this practice (this isn't a new scam, but "newbies" aren't aware of it and even experienced marketers can often have too much trust in users) .

This is unfortunate. Scamming/conning exists in every industry. As do inbred low-life no ethic bastards.

If I were at PayPal loss prevention, I'd also want to contact any banks and credit card companies that his account is linked to and show them these posts. Freeze his accounts.

Not to mention get law enforcement involved. If the FTC is chasing up honest marketers for unclear verbiage on their salespages, they better damn well get to work and shut down people like this and put him in jail.

Rob,

WOW.

I hadn't read that post before but was well aware of the scam. A few of those who'd been screwed contacted me to see if I could do anything to help (because of a previous post of mine warning AGAINST ad-swaps). Sadly no.

Great share.

Damn Sad.
