I hate to say this, but could you be any more general? Really, that is such a wide open question, it would take a large book to answer it. I suggest you study affiliate marketing first and then ask people more specific questions.

Depends on what you want to do:

Free content with affiliate links? (This is very popular)

Proprietary content with affiliate links in the content?

Optin capture page with email follow up?

A shopping comparison site?

A combination of the above?

There are dozens (if not hundreds) of ways to make an affiliate site...Got to pick a style first....

Here's a hint, check out the banners in CJ.com for different merchants, they can often be quite inspiring...

The baet way to figure this out is to go look at existing sites that are in the direction you are thinking about. Emulate those.

If I were you I would go to flippa.com. Here you can either buy an affiliate site ready to go or you can see what other people are doing and try to do something simlar.
