Everyone who does not want to 'work for the man' wants to work from home.

I say, work from anywhere!
This is the concept that I want to build my business on.
Work from....the beach, the bathroom, Starbucks!
Give me one or two words to finish this sentence and let's see where this takes us.
Work from _______.

... my backyard. ;)

Or the park, on occasion.

I still prefer my home office ... I'm a party pooper. ;)

For me it depends on the season.

In the Winter it's work from home - the home office or the laptop on the coffee table.

Spring through fall though - it's the backyard, the beach, or where ever else I happen to be at the time. The only problem I have when I get to work from anywhere is that I tend to break at least on laptop every year... :-*

Cheers,
Trevas

I agree with Mike, working from the home office is the best and in my case the most efficient . I do like to travel, and when I do its usually calls for working from a coffee shop or a café, but that also means everything I do is going to take about 25% longer.

I fully admit it.......

that working from home with 4 children is........... challenging :o

I'm seriously considering renting some office round the corner from home, at least then I won't get distracted so much.

Might be kind of lonely though :(

Anyone else rent an office?

Chris...with 4 munchkins challenging is an understatement. My fav spot is in Mexico but when home I prefer my big leather chair with the Macbook Pro.

I have worked online at home for over 4 years and a half years now and love it but it takes some discipline and planning especially with kids in the house.

I have one daughter who is is 13 going on 20! :)

A few tips that helped make the "work at home thing" work for me are;

* Try and separate “work” and “play” otherwise you might feel you are at work all the time. I eventually moved my office upstairs to a private area of the house and that certainly helped with productivity. When I am not upstairs in the office, I feel I am not at work now.

* Exercise more than just your fingers on the keyboard (IM marketers, like all those with sedentary type jobs are at risk of getting overweight)! No point having the IM lifestyle and all the money but getting too sick to enjoy it!

* Keep in contact with other IM buddies (Skype, conferences etc) as otherwise it can be a lonely lifestyle if you do it all on your own.

* Have a passion outside of IM marketing so you can get away from the computer every so often and let your hair down and go a bit crazy.

Mine is playing guitar in a band. Sure I’m not that good but it’s fun!

* Build a team of virtual or in house assistants (depends if your office is at home or at another location) to do the “grunge work” asap.

* If you have a partner, stop typing when you talk to them! ;)

Hope that helps.

Hi,

I prefer to work at home, I have my own little office where I can work in peace, except when its school holidays for my son, then he's in and out with all his boys'..
